B&Q FIRST FOR SAFETY WITH MANCHESTER FORT

B&Q FIRST FOR SAFETY WITH MANCHESTER FORT

We all want our children to be safe, so at a recent Kids Club event at Manchester Fort Shopping Park during Child Safety week, B&Q asked for children to design a safety poster to make children think about the possible dangers they should avoid.

Three creative local artists all from Cheetham Hill (pictured left to right) Shabana Azami (age 8), Hamza Jahangir (age 7) Sehar Azimi (age 5) with Elaine Challinor (store manager) concentrated on swimming in the sea and in the garden. They warned us to look out for Sharks! and not to eat any dangerous berries when in the garden. All important messages.

They were all presented with personal safety alarms from B&Q store manager Elaine Challinor who said “ We want all the children to be safe at all times, so we asked them to think about accidents that can happen when they are outside playing. We had some lovely entries but these three just grabbed our imagination the most and were really vibrant. Well done to all three!

The safety event at the Kids club was just one of the fun activities that take place throughout the year, with an event on the last Sunday of every month. The next one is on Sunday the 30th August and the theme is ‘ Under the Sea’. Held in Borders Bookstore from 12noon to 2pm there are crafty workshops, colouring competitions and hands on activities for all ages from 4years to 11years.

And with over 33 high street stores at Manchester Fort Shopping Park, Cheetham Hill Road, including Argos, TK Maxx, Next, Asda Living and Peacocks there is lots to do for all the family
