KIDS COOK FOR CHARITY WITH MANCHESTER FORT

KIDS COOK FOR CHARITY WITH MANCHESTER FORT

Pupils from Temple Primary School recently started to cook for charity, when they took part in a 'tasting session' to include their recipes in a special cookbook being published for charity in conjunction with Manchester Fort Shopping Park, Cheetham Hill Road.

Over 60 pupils entered their recipes for the book and a total of six were chosen to prepare their recipes for a tasting session with centre manager at Manchester Fort, Philip Byrne, and their school cook Mrs Margaret Griffiths.

The judges are now to decide who will win their Year category and also who should receive special recognition, when the recipes are published in the Cookbook which will be sold at Manchester Fort for the New Manchester Children’s Hospital Fund Charity later this year.

Commenting Philip Byrne, Centre Manager said: 'We are constantly being told how important it is to eat the right foods and to know where your food comes from, so we at Manchester Fort thought what better way to encourage the children than to ask them to contribute towards a Cookbook. The pupils at Temple School have really thrown themselves into this task and have shown us all how enthusiastic they are about cooking, and not only have they benefited from the experience, we are also hoping to raise money for a worthwhile cause.
